Car Accessory Industry On The Up
In towns and cities up and down the country there are boy racers whizzing around streets in their vividly coloured hatchbacks. Noisily buzzing around with loud exhausts and booming bass speakers. If think you think that the numbers of luminous cars on the roads are increasing, you're not wrong the car modifications and accessories industry is now worth close to £350m a year.
In fact it's unfair to paint all these young men in the same colour. The amount spent on modifying these cars can amount to thousands which is why many drive rather slowly. The pride and joy of a boy racer is usually a 'pimped out' Ford Fiesta, Renault Clio, Peugeot 106s or Nissan Micra. The £350 million consists of various car accessories from stereo systems to car mats. Of course, this figure also includes paint jobs, usually brightly coloured finishes, which can give the impression that a Vauxhall Nova has just been tangoed or you've just seen an Oompa Loompa going 80mph down the dual carriageway.
The thing is it seems as if it's just men and teenagers who are into 'maxing out' their car. Women seem not to have the slightest bit of interest. However there has been an increase of the number of women entering the automotive mechanics industry; so perhaps we are in for change in trend. However middle aged men are one of the biggest beneficiaries of the car accessory industry, picking up items such as a sat navs, a vehicle tracking system, blue tooth car kits, and parking sensors. They are just as keen as the youngster but in more of a kind of a granddad sort of way. However so rapidly is the industry increasing, it wouldn't surprise me if old age pensioners start putting alloys on their mobility scooters. See what happens shall we.
I have a JL 12W7-V3. what are the voice coils on this bad boy? dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm?
Looking to also get a new mono block amp. any suggestions?
3ohms, and thats another reason why i avoid JL Audio- they come with those funky impedances
when you deal with JL your best bet for an amp is another JL amp- get raedy to cash out
Android Smartphone Round-Up: December/January Edition (crunchgear?)
We took a break from the Android round-up in December because, well, to be
honest I was on vacation. But January gave us a few extra smartphones and the
holidays are over, so we're back. What we've got for you today leans into more
expensive turf, and unfortunately, our favorite Android devices for the past
two months are also exclusively at Verizon, so Big Red subscribers should pay
attention. Without further ado, these are our favorite December/January
releases of the Android persuasion: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the LG Spectrum,
and the Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx. Enjoy!
